Canopies purchased through Essex Awnings are guaranteed for one year. The guarantees cover the awning or canopy system which means the components and the framework. The cover is guaranteed, not including the valance, and the Somfy motor and controls used in the awning or canopy system as long as long as:

• The awning or canopy system has been installed correctly
• The awning or canopy system has been adjusted correctly
• The awning or canopy system has not been misused

The canopies and awnings available from Essex Awnings are designed and produced for sun protection and for light shower use and not for adverse conditions such as snow, heavy rain, hale, storm etc. Nothing should be hung from the awning or canopy system at any time as this will invalidate the guarantee.

Caring for your Awning System or Canopy System

Once the awning system or canopy system is installed, it is important to note how to properly care for the components, to make your system work as long and efficiently as it can.

Joints on awnings or canopies should not require lubrication, however if atmospheric settings are very dry, the awning' joints should be sprayed with silicone in order to lubricate. WD-40 or other similar substances should not be used in any circumstance and will nullify the guarantee.

Framework of the awning or canopy should be cleaned at least once every year, with a soft cloth or sponge and warm water. The guarantee will be nullified by using any cleaning products or stuff brushes and may also damage the canopy or awning framework.

Fabric on the awning or canopy system should be cleaned at the very least once every year. By using a mild detergent with warm water and a sponge or soft cloth, the fabric can be wiped and marks can be removed making the system look like new.
